French MAS-36 Bayonet

Mas36Bayonet1s

If you have a MAS-36 French bolt action rifle and are lacking a bayonet today is your lucky day. Finding a bayonet for the rifle is near impossible, and I’ve seen more rifles without the bayonet than rifles with one. This example, which measures 17-inches, showed up at an estate sale and was sold as a “Russian bayonet.”

Obviously it isn’t Russian, it is the French spike bayonet for the MAS-36, and that is about the only rifle this one will work with. I’ve priced it accordingly for the rarity and the overall excellent condition of this example.

U.S. Legitimus Collins & Co. U.S. 1942 Machete With Field Made Scabbard

foursheathmachete1s

Here is another lovely Legitimus Collins & Co. machete. It may have been cleaned, or it just didn’t see much wear but it still has some nice patina. It is dated 1942 and it comes with a field-made scabbard – from a spare barrel cover. This is a nice piece with some real character. It is reasonably priced.

U.S. True Temper Machete 1945 Dated with Shell Lea Goods Company Scabbard

Truetemper1945_1s

Here is a late-war era machete that likely did some chopping – these were still issued in Vietnam so it could have been from a later conflict. It is dated 1945 and is in good shape with some nice patina. It comes with a 1943 dated Shell Lea Goods Company Inc. scabbard. It displays well.

USMC MK2 1944 SWI Machete (No. II)

threemachete1s

Here is another USMC machete. This one displays well and given the patina and the materials it is likely an earlier model, and not a 1980s copy. Either way it has been priced to sell.

Price: $50 plus shipping

USMC MK2 1944 SWI Machete (No. III)

onemachete1s

This machete is likely a 1980s copy, but it looks every inch (all 18-inches) the part, and it could still do plenty of chopping. Even new these sell for more in stores, so my price is reasonable.

Price: $45 plus shipping
